I went to Chicago this weekend and fell in love.
Everything about Chicago is so perfect to me. You have a mix of old and new, modern and antiquity, in the architecture. The city is open and bright, with varying building heights allowing you to see the sky.
I went to art museum, had some of the best food of my life, learned some history and got to spend time with my dad. What’s not to love?
Over the next week I’ll be posting two restaurant reviews, but until then I’ll leave you with this.

This is a pancetta, mozzarella, tomato and basil sandwich on ciabatta bread lightly drizzled with olive oil from L’Appetito.
My dad and I wandered into this Italian market/deli/coffee shop Saturday afternoon looking for something to split for lunch. Thank god we did split it because this sandwich was about as long as my forearm and more then twice it’s width. The photos hardly do it justice.

Everything on the sandwich was fresh, which made a huge impact on the taste. I’ve always loved caprese so this was a delicious sandwich for me, and it was under $10 I believe, which makes it even better. I would definitely go back next time I’m in the city.
